AASL Standard I: Inquire, Think Critically, and Gain Knowledge
500 pointsThink of a topic that you have covered in social studies this year. Then please search for books on Destiny Discover on that particular topic. Compile a list of books that we currently have in the Media Center that your teacher could utilize in the future to enhance that unit. Submit that list to both your teacher and the Media Center staff.
|
700 pointsRead a biography from this section. Create a time capsule of 5-10 items that would help tell other students about the person that you read. Please submit your Time Capsule to the Media Center, as it may be used for future displays in the Media Center. Items in the Time Capsule will be returned to the original owner.

1,000 pointsSouvenirs are a way people remember places that they have visited. Please choose a book to read in the United States section. Then be thinking about what souvenirs you might bring back home with you, if you visited this place. Perhaps you choose to read a book about a place that you already have visited, and can share a souvenir with the Media Center, that you actually have. Or, you could make a souvenir that you could sell, if you lived there. Souvenirs shared with the Media Center need a caption card to explain why that souvenir is important to your location. Souvenirs need your name on them, as all will be returned to you, after they have been used in a display.
